Mezőkövesd
Mezőkövesd is located at the foot of the Bükk Mountains and lies on the border between the mountains and the great plains. It is known for the Matyó folk costume and embroidery art. In this town, you can still find the typical old buildings from this era.
Mezőkövesd is the nearest large city to the campsite. This city is well-equipped with everything you need, including major supermarket chains, other essential shops, restaurants, cafés, and of course the weekly market on Wednesdays, which is definitely worth a visit.
In the city center, you will find a museum about the Matyó people, their embroidery art, and folk costumes. In the Hadas district, you can still see streets and houses from this era. There is also a museum about agriculture in the center, featuring old farming machines.
Outside the city is the Zsóry Thermal Bath.
