Cycling in Hungary

Hungary may not be a country you immediately think of when it comes to cycling, but it certainly has a lot to offer. The bike is an excellent way to explore the area around the campsite, whether on paved or unpaved roads.

The area around the campsite is known for its variety of landscapes, including the Puszta, farmland, hills, and mountains, all accessible by bike from the campsite.

Highlights:

– The vast Puszta of the Borsod-Mezőség Park
– The dikes and nature around Lake Tisza
– The hills of Matyóland
– The hills and vineyards around Eger
– The mountains of the Bükk and Mátra ranges

With a regular bike, road bike, gravel bike, and mountain bike, you can take beautiful rides through the surrounding area.

For the gravel bike and mountain bike, there are many unpaved roads to ride on. You'll mostly encounter a tractor or a shepherd. This is for the true adventurers.

If you're looking for a great route or would like to go on a guided tour, I'd be happy to help you explore the options. I (Mark) am an avid cyclist, and whenever I can in my free time, I’m out exploring the most beautiful routes and spots.
