Budapest is located on both sides of the Danube. In 1873, Buda and \u00d3buda on the western bank of the Danube were united with Pest on the eastern bank, forming the city as it is today. The city has a population of 1.7 million. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The Hungarian Parliament building is located in a beautiful spot along the Danube. It is the third largest parliament building in Europe. The parliament building is definitely worth visiting both at night and inside. \n

On the opposite side of the Danube, across from the Parliament building, is the Fisherman's Bastion. It was built to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of Hungary. From here, you have a beautiful view over Pest. \n

On the Castle Hill, where the Fisherman's Bastion is located, stands Matthias Church with beautiful stained glass windows, a special floor, and stunning paintings. The Buda Castle, like the Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church, is on the Buda side of the city. In this old royal palace, you'll find the Hungarian National Gallery, the national Sz\u00e9chenyi Library, and the Budapest Historical Museum.<\/p>\n

Margaret Island is an island park in the middle of the Danube. Here, you can relax after a long walk, enjoy a picnic, or continue your walk through the park. The most famous attraction in the park is the musical fountain, which plays for 15 minutes every hour and provides a fantastic show for an hour at 9:00 PM. <\/p>\n

St. Stephen's Basilica is the largest church in Budapest and is located at a lovely square on the Pest side of the Danube. This church houses an important relic: the hand of King Stephen, the first king of Hungary. The church tower can also be climbed, offering a beautiful view of this magnificent city. \n

The Chain Bridge connects Buda and Pest, and the crossing is worth it both during the day and at night. The Great Market Hall is one of the most beautiful market halls in Europe. You can enjoy wandering around here. Behind Heroes' Square lies V\u00e1rosliget, the city park of Budapest. In this park, you'll find Vajdahunyad Castle, the zoo, and the Sz\u00e9chenyi Bath. There's also a small lake where you can rent boats. In winter, this transforms into an ice rink. <\/p>\n

Heroes' Square was built to commemorate the thousandth anniversary of Hungary and is the largest square in Budapest. In the middle of the square stands the Millennium Monument, which honors the history of Hungary and the seven tribes that founded Hungary. <\/p>\n

In addition, there are many other activities to do in Budapest, and plenty of caf\u00e9s where you can enjoy a delicious snack and drink. <\/p>\n
