Eger Castle (Eger)<\/h2>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Eger Castle is a castle with a long historical past. The most well-known historical event associated with it is the 1552 siege, when the defenders of the castle, under the command of Captain Istv\u00e1n Dob\u00f3, repelled the overwhelming army of the Ottoman Empire.<\/span>\n

There are various activities to do throughout the year.\n
\n
The castle is about a 30-minute drive from the campsite in Gelej.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Boldogk\u0151 Castle (Boldogk\u0151v\u00e1ralja)<\/h2>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Located at the foot of the Zempl\u00e9n Mountains, rising high from the embrace of peach trees and black pines, this romantic castle awaits. The castle is built on a rock. This castle offers a magnificent panoramic view. From April to the end of October, there is plenty to do, with guaranteed programs on weekends: knight shows and interactive costume tours.\n

The history of Boldogk\u0151 Castle is quite complex and, according to the remaining documents, difficult to follow. We do not know the exact time when the castle was built, but it is certain that it was constructed after the Tatar invasion. As a fortress, it protected the Kassa road (the road to Kassa\/Kosice, the capital of Slovakia) and the Hern\u00e1d Valley.\n

Di\u00f3sgy\u0151r (Miskolc)<\/h2>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The Castle of Di\u00f3sgy\u0151r is a medieval castle located in the historic town of Di\u00f3sgy\u0151r. Di\u00f3sgy\u0151r is now part of the northern Hungarian city of Miskolc. The first part of the castle was likely built in the 12th century and was destroyed during the Mongol invasion. The current castle was built after the invasion and reached the peak of its significance during the reign of King Louis the Great (1342-1382). Later, in the 16th century, it became a marriage gift for the queens of Hungary. It remained so until the Ottoman invasion of Hungary. By the end of the 17th century, it was already in ruins. Archaeological excavations began in the early 1960s. In 2014, the castle was restored, and its rooms were furnished with medieval-style furniture. <\/span>\n
