Thermal baths<\/h4>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Hungary may have the most thermal and medicinal baths in the world. These springs have a history that spans over 2,000 years. The Celts already referred to Budapest as \"Ak-luk,\" which literally translates to \"Abundant Waters.\" In the region around the campsite, there are a number of wonderful thermal baths to enjoy, including one built in a cave. Hungary has fewer castles and fortresses compared to countries like the Czech Republic. This is because, after the Wessel\u00e9nyi Rebellion, named after Ferenc Wessel\u00e9nyi, the Habsburgs blew up many fortresses and castles. This took place at the end of the 17th century, after the departure of the Ottomans. Nevertheless, there are several castles in the region near our campsite that are definitely worth a visit...<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

The possibility for cycling in the area around our campsite is endless. Cycling on the asphalt is possible, but this often takes place on (busy) roads. Drivers in Hungary are very considerate of cyclists and are required to maintain at least 1.5 meters of distance. There are also many unpaved roads, some more accessible by bike than others. But once you've found a nice path, it's a joy. Mark can help you map out a beautiful cycling route in the area. <\/p>\n

Fishing<\/h4>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Fishing in Hungary is possible in very many places. More than 80 species of fish can be caught in Hungary. Carp are fished the most in Hungary. To be allowed to fish, a national permit is required and then a regional one. The national permit is valid all year round. The regional one is valid for a short period, a day or a week. Both can usually be obtained at the fishing spot, otherwise at the local tourist information office (Tourinform) or in larger towns at MOHOSZ, which are fishing information offices.\n

In the area around our campsite, you can find several stalactite caves. The most famous and largest one is located in Aggtelek National Park. The stalactite caves in Hungary are very impressive and special to see. \n
